SCOUTING RICHMOND
The Spiders (7-18, 4-8) have lost three of four, including a 78-48 setback at Saint Louis on Sunday. Sophomore Alex Parson (10.6 ppg, 58 assists) and junior Jaide Hinds-Clarke (10.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg) lead the team. HindsClarke has also recorded a team-high 44 steals as Richmond ranks third in the A-10 with 200 steals (8.0 spg).
SERIES HISTORY
One of Mason's most frequent opponents, Richmond holds a 34-25 lead in the all-time series. The Patriots have won two of the last three after the Spiders had won the previous eight meetings. Last year, Mason defeated Richmond 77-56 on Jan. 17, 2018 in Fairfax. Three players scored in double figures for the Patriots, led by then-graduate student Natalie Butler (17 points and 19 rebounds. Nicole Cardaño-Hillary added 13 points and Sarah Kaminski chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds. The last time Mason played at the Robins Center on Jan. 22, 2017, the Patriots collected their first win in the series since 1999.

LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots scored their fewest points of the season in a 62-38 loss to A-10 leader VCU on Sunday in Fairfax. Mason shot a season-low 24 percent from the field and scored just six points in the second quarter. The Patriots had only six assists compared to 15 turnovers and VCU scored 15 points on the miscues. Sophomore Nicole Cardaño-Hillary led the way with 12 points and sophomore Camarie Gatling added 10 points.
ATLANTIC 10 LEADERS
Several Patriots are among the league's best in numerous statistical categories. Nicole Cardaño-Hillary leads the Atlantic 10 in scoring with 20.8 points per game. She also tops the league in steals with 54. Junior Jacy Bolton is second in the A-10 in rebounding (8.6 rpg) and double-doubles (eight). Sophomore forward Camarie Gatling also ranks second in the conference in shooting percentage (.551).
