FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's cross country teams will face its most challenging tests of the season with the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Friday at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Va.
The women take off on the 6k course at 10:30 a.m., with the men to follow at 11:30 a.m. on the 10k course.
Last time out, the Mason men finished fourth at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Nov. 2 at Oatlands Plantation for their highest finish since 2016. Sophomore
Jack Ikenberry put together one of the best performances of his career, finishing fourth in the meet with a time of 25:17.3. Redshirt junior
Hunter Jutras placed 13th (25:37.9) to also steady the Patriots.
The Mason women claimed sixth for the second straight year at the Atlantic 10 Championships. The Patriots started the season ranked 15th in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional Cross Country preseason rankings. It marked the women's first ranking since 2011.
Ikenberry and Jutras, both Atlantic 10 All-Conference honorees, lead the way for the men.
