PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The George Mason women's volleyball team finished its three-game road stretch with a straight-set loss to Duquesne on Sunday afternoon. The Patriots drop to 4-11 overall and 0-3 in Atlantic 10 play. The Dukes earned their first conference win to improve to 7-10 overall.
Mason returns to Fairfax for its A-10 home opener on Friday against Dayton. First serve scheduled for 7 p.m. at the RAC.

Bailey Williams led the Patriots with nine kills at a .400 clip. The outside hitter added a team-high 10 digs in the loss. Sophomore setter
Erin Derick recorded 30 assists and two service aces.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Patriots hit .127 in the match, their third lowest clip of the season.
- Mason tabbed seven service aces – tied for the second most by the Patriots this season.
- The Patriots are averaging 2.29 blocks per set; however, were held to a season-low two blocks in the loss.
- The first set saw 15 ties and five lead changes. The Dukes took the opening set, 25-23.
- Duquesne hit .682 in the second set with 15 kills on 22 attempts with no attacking errors, pushing them to the set win, 25-17.
- The Dukes used an 8-1 scoring run to claim the third set, 25-19.
- Sophomore Marlanna Bozicevich made her first appearance as the team's starting libero, posting six digs.

Mason returns to Fairfax for its A-10 home opener on Oct. 11 against Dayton. The following night, the Patriots host Saint Louis at 7 p.m. for Girls Scouts Night. There will be a post-match clinic for all Girls Scouts in attendance.
