FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team plays its lone game this week on the road, facing Central Florida on Thursday with the kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at UCF Soccer Complex in Orlando, Fla.

Last time out, Mason (4-3-0) held the lead at the half, but fell to No. 8 Georgetown 2-1 on Sunday at George Mason Stadium.

Freshman forward Emma van der Vorst scored Mason's lone goal against the Hoyas in the 39th minute, converting with a header off a free kick by graduate student Gabriela Rivera.

Each of Mason's last four games and five of seven matches this season have been decided by one goal.  The Patriots have posted all four of their victories by a single tally.

Emma van der Vorst has scored a goal in four straight games, tied for the third-longest streak in program history.  She leads the Patriots and is tied for second in the Atlantic 10 in goals (4) and points (9).

Mason senior midfielder Rebecca Callison paces the Patriots in assists (3), while sophomore midfielder Kayla Hamric and Rivera are tied for second on the squad in assists (2).

Four different players have scored a game-winning goal for Mason (Sara Chontosh, Nia Elbeck, Gabriela Rivera and Olivia Reese).  Five Patriots have netted their first NCAA goal over the first seven games of the season.

Mason redshirt junior goalkeeper Morgan Symmers (4-2-0, 1.71) has made 15 saves in six games played.  She is tied for first in the Atlantic 10 in victories by a goalkeeper.

Mason is 5-1-1 all-time against UCF.  This is the first meeting between the two teams in 27 years.  The Patriots defeated the Knights, 1-0, on Oct. 10, 1991 at George Mason Stadium.

The Patriots are facing the Knights on the road for just the second time in program history.  Mason's lone visit to Orlando was 35 years ago, when the Patriots blanked the Knights 2-0 on Oct. 15, 1983.
