KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The George Mason women's soccer team fell to No. 25 Tennessee 4-0 on Sunday night at Regal Soccer Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn.
Mason (1-1-0) fell behind Tennessee (2-0-0) in the 27th minute when freshman forward Amy Thompson found room inside the box and scored her second goal of the season from 10 yards out to put the Volunteers in front 1-0.
Tennessee doubled the lead after a throw in just over two minutes later.

Morgan Symmers made a diving save, but junior forward Salera Jordan collected the rebound and scored into an open net to increase the Volunteers advantage to 2-0.
Tennessee added a pair of goals in the second half. Senior midfielder Rylie O'Keefe scored off a cross into the lower left corner to increase the Volunteers lead to 3-0 in the 57th minute.

Kariana Blaszak replaced Symmers in net in the 58th minute.
Volunteers sophomore forward Erin Gilroy, who played for Team USA in the U-20 Women's World Cup, tallied in the 71st minute to make the score 4-0.
The Volunteers finished with a 20-4 advantage in shots, including 7-0 in shots on goal. Tennessee had five corner kicks and Mason had one.
Symmers (1-1-0) made three saves over 57:36 of playing time, while Blaszak played 32:24 in her NCAA debut. Tennessee senior goalkeeper Shae Yanez did not face a shot on goal.

The Patriots will have the week off before facing No. 24 Rutgers on Sunday, Aug. 26 with the kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, N.J.
