Sunday's game will serve as Senior Day with a celebratory ceremony for senior outfielder Brooke Sullivan. Fans are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes prior to first pitch.
FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason Softball team (19-24, 9-8 A-10) had its second rainout of the season on Wednesday. The road doubleheader at Mount St. Mary's was canceled and will not be rescheduled. Nonetheless, the season resumes with the team's final home series of the season by hosting Dayton for a three-game set. The teams face off on Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader at noon, as well as one game on Sunday at noon. Sunday's game will serve as the annual Senior Day.
Last season, the Patriots took two of three from the Flyers in the regular season and beat them in the A-10 Tournament. George Mason came back from a 3-0 deficit in the May 10 matchup in the conference tournament and held on to win 6-5.
Sydnee Wells led the way with three hits and two RBI and
Brooke Sullivan chipped in two RBI as well.
Last time out, the Patriots swept La Salle to start a three-game winning streak and contribute to a hot stretch of seven victories in their last eight games. The recent success sees the program in fourth place in the A-10 standings, one game ahead of George Washington and three games back of this weekend's opponent, Dayton – the third-place team. Pitching has been a strong suit for the squad in the month of April, led by Sophomore
Bekah Ansbro. In her last two starts, she's thrown 12.1 innings while registering 15 strikeouts, all while only giving up three earned runs to have an ERA of 1.70 in that stretch.
The Patriots brought their swinging shoes to Philadelphia last weekend. The team totaled 11 extra-base hits over the course of the three games, with five being home runs and six going for doubles. RS-freshman

Jess Middleton went 5-for-8 at the plate in the last series she appeared in with three doubles and two RBI. In her last 15 games, Middleton has hit .436 with an OPS of 1.300, and has compiled two home runs in 13 RBI in that stretch.

Alyssa Lawton (3-for-10) and junior
Jess Curbeira (3-for-9) each posted a batting average of at least .300 the last series the Patriots were in action. Lawton has brought stability to the outfield by starting the last 13 games in left field, while Curbeira provided production in the nine-hole by knocking in two RBI and clubbing home run.
