The Wildcats took game one 11-3 but the Patriots bounced back with a 4-1 win in game two.

Sophomore Bekah Ansbro pitched her first complete game victory of the season in game two, striking out three and needing 103 pitches to finish the job.

RS-junior Liz Seymour doubled in the third inning of game one to claim sole possession of 10th place on the school's career list. Seymour tripled in game two to move into a four-way tie for seventh on George Mason's all-time list.

Sophomore Sydnee Wells registered two RBI between the two games (one in each game) push her season total to 11. Wells has hit safely in four of her last five games.

The Patriots compiled _ extra base hits between the two games, including two in their game two win. It was the first game this season players in the starting nine had a home run, a triple and a double in the same game. Freshman Hannah Rosenfeld hit her first career home run in game twom while Seymour hit a triple two innings before Rosenfeld's blast.

"Today was a good reason why is we come down here. Winning on the road is difficult and something has to be learned," head coach Joe Verbanic said. "We took a big step forward in that process coming back and playing well to get the win in the nightcap. Good all around team effort to get the win - good defense, good pitching and timely hitting."

Bethune-Cookman posted three first-innings runs with an RBI single and double to begin with the day with a three-run, three-hit showing. Mason drew two walks in its next opportunity at the plate but couldn't drive any of them home, resulting in a missed opportunity with the Wildcats adding two more runs in the bottom half to take a 5-0 lead after two full.

Mason climbed back in the game with back-to-back two-out RBI hits to cut the deficit to 5-2. Seymour doubled home Madison Aker, followed by Wells singling home Seymour to extend their personal streaks – Seymour to four straight games with a hit and Wells to four straight games with an RBI.

The Patriots added run number three in the top of the fourth with a Curbeira RBI single to center to trim the Wildcats' lead to 5-3. However, from there Bethune-Cookman posted six unanswered runs, including four in the sixth, to win game one 11-3 in six innings.

Ansbro got the nod in game two against the Wildcats and began her stellar afternoon with a 1-2-3 inning. The game remained scoreless through three full innings with Ansbro notching two strikeouts.

Seymour initiated a two-run top of the fourth with a leadoff triple to center, her first of the season and tenth of her career. Wells brought her home with an RBI single and RS-freshman Miah Wilson tallied another RBI single two batters later to give the Green and Gold a 2-0 lead.

Up 2-1 in the top of the sixth, Rosenfeld connected on a 1-1 pitch for an opposite field blast to extend the lead to 3-1. The roundtripper was Rosenfeld's first of the season and third Patriot to go deep this season.

The Patriots tacked on one more insurance run in the top of the seventh with a sacrifice-fly from Rosenfeld. Entering the bottom of the seventh with a 4-1 lead, Ansbro look care of business and shut the door to put Mason back in the win column.
