Emma van der Vorst has been named Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) 2018 University Division Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and First Team All-State Forward, while senior
Emily Littell has been selected First Team All-State Midfielder, the league announced on Friday.

Todd Bramble said. "We are excited to see what lies ahead for Emma's future and we are certainly sad that Emily's decorated career has come to an end."
van der Vorst, from Amsterdam, Netherlands, finished off a record-setting season where she was named 2018 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, First Team Forward and selected to the A-10 All-Rookie Team.
Named A-10 Rookie of the Week five times during the regular season, van der Vorst became the first Mason women's soccer player in program history to earn A-10 Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. She led the Atlantic 10 in goals (13) and points (30) and tied for first in game-winning goals (5) during the regular season.
The Mason rookie set the program record for goals in consecutive games, scoring for the eighth straight match in Mason's 2-0 victory over George Washington on Sept. 27. The goal-scoring streak stretched from Aug. 30 – Sept. 27 and eclipsed the previous program record of seven straight games with a goal.
van der Vorst also set the program record with points in 16 straight matches, breaking the previous mark of nine straight games with a point, last set over two seasons in 1999-2000. She scored Mason's first goal of the game 10 times and the Patriots went 13-3-0 when van der Vorst recorded a point.
Littell, a native of Leesburg, Va., has been named VaSID First Team All-State for the second straight year.
Named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic
All-America® Division I Women's Soccer Team First Team, Littell started all 20 games for the Patriots during the 2018 season and finished second on the team with a career-high five goals. She finished second on the club in points (12) and played the third-most minutes of any field player of the team (1,633).
The senior captain started all 81 games during her four-year career, fourth-most in program history. Littell scored 11 goals and added 18 assists for 38 points during her Mason career and her 18 assists are tied for eighth-most in program history.
The Patriots went 8-2-0 in Atlantic 10 play during the regular season, setting the program record for wins and points (24) against the conference. Mason earned a spot in the A-10 Championship for the fourth straight year and advanced to the semifinals.
VaSID names 27 all-state teams in 15 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a University or conference in the state of Virginia.
