FAIRFAX, Va. – A monster game capped off a superb week for George Mason guard Nicole Cardaño-Hillary
The sophomore averaged 24.5 points in a pair of wins for the Patriots and on Monday she was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the second time this season. She also averaged 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.5 steals and shot 50 percent from the field last week.
On Sunday, the native of Madrid, Spain, scored a career-high 33 points on 12-of-21 shooting on the road against Eastern Kentucky in a 91-75 victory. She became the 18th player in program history to score at least 30 points in a game. She scored 23 points in the second half and was 8-for-8 at the free-throw line. She also had five assists, five rebounds and two steals.
In a 72-46 victory over Delaware at home on Thursday, she scored 16 points and nabbed five steals. The 2018 A-10 Rookie of the Year leads the league with 21.1 points per game.
Cardaño-Hillary now have nearly two weeks off before their next game – at home against Houston at 4 p.m. on Dec. 21 at EagleBank Arena.
