DAYTON, Ohio – One of the most successful seasons in program history had the fourth-seeded George Mason women's soccer team taking on top-seeded Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals at Baujan Field in Dayton, Ohio.  The Billikens earned a 3-1 win over the Patriots.

"We weren't at our best today but that's not a reflection of the season we have had or what we are capable of accomplishing," Mason head coach Todd Bramble said.  "This team is capable of competing in the NCAA tournament and we hope the selection committee recognizes that as well."

Mason (14-6-0, 8-2-0 A-10) surrendered two goals in the first half.  The Billikens scored in the 14th minute and the 33rd minute to build a 2-0 advantage.

The Patriots struck early in the second half to get right back into the game.

Freshman forward Jisca Adigo scored her second goal of the season off of a corner kick in the 55th minute, finding the back of the net from 15 yards out to cut the Billikens lead to 2-1.  The goal was set up when Mason senior Emily Littell played a corner kick toward the left post.

Mason sophomore goalkeeper Louisa Moser kept the Patriots within a goal with two spectacular saves midway through the second half.

Saint Louis scored in the 79th minute to make it a 3-1 game.

"Congratulations to Saint Louis for advancing in the tournament," Bramble said.  "They had a good game plan for today and had the upper hand for large parts of the game.  I was proud of how we fought back and made a game of it in the second half. "

The Billikens had 15-4 advantage in shots, including 11-2 in shots on goal.  Saint Louis had five corner kicks and Mason had four in the match.

Mason redshirt junior goalkeeper Morgan Symmers (12-4) started and made two saves in the first half.  Moser played the second half and made six saves.

Billikens goalkeeper Olivia Silverman (16-3-1) finished with one save in the game.

The Patriots are 14-6-0 overall and went 8-2-0 in Atlantic 10 play during the regular season.
