FAIRFAX, Va. – Putting together one of the most impressive hardware hauls in school history, freshman forward Emma van der Vorst has been named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, First Team Forward and selected to the All-Rookie Team, the league announced on Thursday.

A native of Amsterdam, van der Vorst is the first Mason women's soccer player to earn A-10 Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors.  She is just the third player in program history to be selected Player of the Year and only the fourth player in program history named Rookie of the Year.

van der Vorst led the Atlantic 10 in goals (13) and points (30) and tied for first in game-winning goals (5) during the regular season.  She ranked fourth in the conference in shots on goal (30) and fifth in the league in shots (55).

Including the A-10 Championship quarterfinals, van der Vorst has scored in 14 of the last 16 matches.  She has recorded a point in 16 straight matches, breaking the program record of nine straight games with a point, last set in over two seasons in 1999-2000.

van der Vorst set the program record for goals in consecutive games, scoring for the eighth straight match in Mason's 2-0 victory over George Washington on Sept. 27.  The goal-scoring streak stretched from Aug. 30 – Sept. 27 and eclipsed the previous program record of seven straight games with a goal.

van der Vorst's six game-winning goals rank 13th in program history.

Nationally, van der Vorst enters Atlantic 10 Championship weekend tied for 10th in goals (14), tied for 14th in points (32) and tied for fifth in game-winners (6).  She has scored the most goals by any freshman in the nation and has registered the second-most points by a rookie.

van der Vorst earned A-10 Rookie of the Week honors five times during the regular season.

The Patriots have a record of 7-3-0 when van der Vorst scores a goal and a 13-3-0 mark when she records a point, including the A-10 Championship quarterfinals.  She has scored Mason's first goal of the game 10 times.
