FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team travels to Massachusetts to face the Minutewomen on Sunday, with the kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. at Rudd Field in Amherst, Mass.
Last time out, Mason (8-5-0, 3-2-0 A-10) fell to Saint Joseph's, 4-1, on Thursday at George Mason Stadium.
Freshman forward
Emma van der Vorst scored Mason's lone goal, netting her ninth goal of the season on a breakaway in the first minute of play. Senior midfielder

Mason scored the first goal for the eighth straight match.
Emma van der Vorst leads the Atlantic 10 in points (21) and is tied for first in the conference in goals (9).
Littell is second on the team in goals (3) and points (8), while Mason graduate student
Jewel Christian is tied for the team lead in assists (3) and is third on the squad in points (7).
Nine different players have scored at least one goal for the Patriots, while six players have recorded at least one game-winner.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper
Morgan Symmers (7-3-0, 1.57) is tied for third in the A-10 in wins by a goalkeeper (7). Sophomore goalkeeper
Louisa Moser (1-2-0, 2.16) made a season-high six saves against Saint Joseph's on Thursday.
The Patriots have won two of their last three road games. Mason defeated Central Florida, 3-1, on Sept. 13 in Orlando and blanked George Washington, 2-0, on Sept. 27 in Washington, D.C.
The Patriots earned a 3-1 win over the Minutewomen last season in Fairfax.
Rebecca Callison scored in the fourth minute of play and also recorded an assist in the match.
Daniela Neves, now an undergraduate assistant coach with the Patriots, scored in the 17th minute and
Kayla Hamric found the back of the net in the 71st minute.
The Patriots are 3-0-1 against the Minutewomen in the last four meetings between the two teams.
SCOUTING MASSACHUSETTS
UMass has an overall record of 9-2-1, including a mark of 4-0-1 against Atlantic 10 opponents. The Minutewomen are 5-1-0 at home and 4-1-1 on the road this season.
UMass had its eight-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday, playing to a 1-1 double-overtime draw at Fordham in Bronx, N.Y. Senior forward Erin Doster scored the equalizer in the 87th minute to force overtime.
The Minutewomen are 8-0-1 over their last nine games, outscoring opponents by a combined score of 29-3.
At home this season, the Minutewomen are 5-1-0, outscoring opponents by a combined score of 20-3 with four shutouts at Rudd Field.
Nationally, UMass ranks first in assists per game (3.33), fourth in points per game (8.67) and eighth in scoring offense (2.67 goals/game).
Freshman forward Lauren Bonavita is tied for fifth in the A-10 in points (16) and is tied for sixth in the conference in goals (6).
Senior forward Erin Doster is tied for the A-10 lead in assists (6) and is tied for fifth in points (16). Junior forward Rebeca Frisk is tied for sixth in the conference in goals (6) and ranks seventh in the league in points (15).
Senior goalkeeper Peyton Ryan (9-2-1, 0.52) ranks first in the A-10 and is 18th nationally in goals against average (0.52). She leads the league in save percentage (.850) and is tied for first in the conference in wins (9).
