FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team plays the first of two straight games on the road, facing Richmond on Sunday with the kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. at Robins Stadium in Richmond, Va.
Last time out, Mason (10-5-0, 5-2-0 A-10) blanked Duquesne, 3-0, on Friday at George Mason Stadium.
The Patriots defeated the Dukes for the first time in program history. Mason dropped the first four meetings against Duquesne, all by a single goal.
Freshman forward
Emma van der Vorst scored her fourth game-winner of the season with a header in the 18th minute. Senior forward
Nia Elbeck netted her second goal of the year in the 23rd minute and senior midfielder
Emily Littell tallied her fourth goal of the campaign in the 52nd minute.
The Patriots scored the first goal for the 10th consecutive match.
Emma van der Vorst leads the A-10 in goals (11) and points (25) and is tied for second in game-winners (4). She has scored in three straight and 11 of the last 12 matches, while recording a point in 12 straight games.
Littell is second on the team in goals (4) and points (10), while graduate student
Jewel Christian is tied for third on the club in goals (2) and is third in points (7).

Rebecca Callison, who picked up two assists against Duquesne, is tied for fourth in the conference in assists (5).

Morgan Symmers (12 games/925 minutes) is 8-3-0 with a 1.36 goals against average. She is tied for third in the league in wins by a goalkeeper (8).
Nine different players have scored at least one goal for the Patriots, while six players have recorded at least one game-winner.
Mason has won four of its last five games, with each of the four victories by shutout.
Last season, the Patriots scored in the 97th minute for a 1-0 overtime win over the Spiders at George Mason Stadium. Symmers made two saves to record her first career victory.
