FAIRFAX, Va. – Bailey Williams picked up right where she left off after Friday night's stellar performance where she led the Patriots with 13 kills. The sophomore went above and beyond Saturday night recording 18 kills – the most by a Patriot in a three-set match since Lana Zonjic had 18 back on Oct. 5, 2012.

Additional notable individual efforts included Emily Konchan posting 35 assists, her 10th match of 30 or more this year, as well as Sydney Fanoga who notched seven kills for a .294 hit percentage (7-2-17).

Despite the notable performances, Mason fell to Duquesne 3-0.

"I thought Bailey played really well, and we were hitting pretty well throughout the whole match and then just lost it in the third set," head coach Aylene Ilkson said. "But [Williams] did a nice job and the middles tried to hold [down the opposing attack] as much as they could."

The Patriots got off to a fast start thanks to two service aces from Emily Konchan, the fifth time this year she's had multiple service aces. Williams showed right from the opening frame that she was going to be a force on the attack picking up six kills. Despite Williams' effort, an 11-5 run to close out the set by the Dukes gave them the win at 25-17.

In the second set the Patriots again jumped out to a 2-0 lead, one that included a kill from Williams. The score remained close for most of the set and the Patriots took a 14-13 lead midway through thanks to kills from Jordan Glass and Fanoga. Though two Duquesne runs of 4-0 and 5-0 gave the Patriots a deficit they couldn't overcome, leading to set two going to the Dukes 25-20.

Once the intermission concluded the Dukes saw leads of 12-4 and 15-5 before the Patriots stopped the bleeding with two kills from Williams and one from Mikala Wells. After the score was 15-5, the Patriots outscored the Dukes 13-10 but it was too little, too late as Duquesne hung on and took the set 25-18 and win the match.

With three regular season games left on the schedule, the Patriots will play this upcoming Friday as they head to the Nation's capital to play George Washington.
