Final Results

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's track and field team made it a sweet repeat.

For the second straight year, the Patriots captured the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship. As they did in 2015, they claimed the team title on their home track after two successful days on Saturday and Sunday at George Mason Stadium.

The men finished with 215 points to edge Rhode Island (201). The Patriots were propelled by six individual and relay championships. Raeshawn Bishop (long jump, triple jump) collected two gold medals while Steven Flynn (5,000-meter run), Bernard Freeman (200-meter dash) and Ayo Raymond (100-meter dash) also finished first in their events. In addition, Freeman, Raymond, Junias Agyei and David Stone won the 4x100-meter relay.

Freeman was named the A-10 Most Outstanding Men's Track Performer as he reached the podium four times with two gold medals and a pair of silver medals (100-meter dash and 4x100). The junior was also named the Most Oustanding Men's Track Performer at the indoor championships and has won the last four 200-meter dash titles (indoor and outdoor).

Bishop, a sophomore, was named the A-10 Most Outstanding Men's Field Performer after he won his first two conference championships.

Andrew Gerard, in his eighth year as head coach, was tabbed the A-10 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year for the second straight season.

On the women's side, the Patriots narrowly missed out on winning their third straight conference championship. They finished with 126 points, just five shy of champion VCU.

Seniors Lindsay Horton (pole vault) and Talisha Watts (high jump) defended their titles and won back-to-back conference championships. The 4x400-meter relay team of Sharon Dorsey, Sarah Moore, Caela Williams and Sommer Sharpe also took gold.
