FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason wrestling team returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 29, competing in the 2016 Lock Haven Classic Tournament in Lock Haven, Pa.  The tournament is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Mason (1-7, 1-1 EWL) is back on the mat for the first time since suffering a 27-10 loss to No. 24 Virginia on Dec. 21 in Richmond.

Seniors Sahid Kargbo (11-1) and Patrick Davis (8-7) along with sophomore Matthew Voss (4-7) each earned a victory against the Cavaliers.  Kargbo has recorded four major decisions and one fall and Davis has three major decisions this season to earn bonus points for the Patriots.

Last season, Mason finished in seventh place as a team in the Lock Haven Classic.  Pittsburgh took the team title with 94.5 points, Indiana was second with 88 points and Lock Haven finished third with 78.5 points.

In last year's Lock Haven Classic, Davis won all four of his consolation matches to finish third at 165 pounds.  Tejon Anthony advanced to the semi-finals and placed fourth at 141 pounds.  Ibrahim Bunduka advanced to the consolation finals at 125 pounds and Voss won four matches at 285 pounds and made it to the finals in the consolation bracket.

Mason is one of 14 schools that will have wrestlers competing both attached and unattached.  Wrestlers from Army, Binghamton, Bucknell, Buffalo, Franklin & Marshall, Hofstra, Kent State, Messiah, Old Dominion, No. 23 Pittsburgh, Rider, Rutgers and VMI will participate in the Lock Haven Classic.
