Several Patriots had career-days Saturday as George Mason track and field hosted the Mason Spring Invitational.
Senior Anthony Williams set a personal record and moved to seventh on Mason's All-Time list following a first place finish in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 13.93 (IC4A) . Williams was one of several Patriots to have career days. Junior Logan Besougloff improved his mark on the Patriots All-Time list with a personal record height of 4.70m in a second place pole vault finish. Sophomore Ryan Williams finished 10th in the men's javelin with a personal record distance of 51.88m, good for fourth on Mason's All-Time list.
The Patriots has several other standout performances from the men. Sophomore Bernard Freeman took ninth overall and seventh amongst collegiate competitors in the 400m dash with a time of 48.91 (IC4A). Freshman John Seals took fifth place in the long jump setting a personal record with a mark of 6.87m and placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 2.04m. Sophomore Sean Daugherty took third in the pole vault with a height of 4.55m. Sophomore Steven Flynn finished fourth in the 1500m run with a mark of 3:45.6 (IC4A).
On the women's side, freshman Taylor Sharpe continued her strong season with a first place finish in the 200m dash registering a career-best time of 24.07. Sophomore Caela Williams also set a new PR in the 200m dash, finishing seventh with a time of 24.59. Senior Aneesha Scott finished fifth in the 100m dash with a personal record time of 11.80, good for 10th on Mason's All-Time list. Fellow senior Jasmine Robinson came in sixth with a time of 11.85.
Sophomore Chantel Richardson took fifth overall and second amongst collegiate competitors in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.18. Overall winner, Monique Morgan, set a new facility record with a mark of 13.06. Senior Shavon Briscoe took third overall and second amongst collegiate competitors in the 400m hurdles, registering a time of 1:01.53 (ECAC), Briscoe also qualified for the ECAC with a mark of 13.41 in the preliminary round of the 100m hurdles. Freshman Sommer Sharpe rounded out the collegiate top five with a time of 1:02.38 (ECAC). In the distance events, senior Lauren Givens finished third in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:26.89.
In the field events, junior Michelle Wallerstedt took first place in the discus throw with a mark of 48.11 (ECAC) while classmate Emily Muniz took seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.67m while senior Amanda Denger came in sixth in the javelin with a distance of 38.01m. Senior Talisha Watts took second place in the high jump with a mark of 1.70 (ECAC).
