Pitching

Friday: RHP Anthony Montefusco (2-1, 2.33 ERA) vs. Justin Malone (0-1, 7.83 ERA)
Saturday: RHP Ryan Pfaeffle (2-2, 3.86 ERA) vs. Ben Marshall (2-2, 3.47 ERA)
Sunday: RHP A.J. Johnson (2-4, 5.04 ERA) vs. Max Schmitz (2-2, 4.50 ERA)

The Patriots return to conference action this weekend, hosting Georgia State in a three-game series. The two teams last faced each other a season ago, with the Panthers claiming the season series, 2-1. The games will start at 3:00 pm on Friday, 2:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday's game has been moved to a 12:00 pm start.

Friday's game will be the featured Game of the Week. All students in attendance will receive a free Mason mini baseball helmet when presenting a valid student ID. All fans in attendance on Friday will also have the opportunity to play baseball bingo for the chance to win a Mason prize package.

Mason enters the weekend winners of five of its last six contests, most recently defeating Rider, 12-1, on Wednesday.

Senior designated hitter Zack Helgeson is the reigning CAA Player of the Week. Helgeson batted .444 (8-18) with six doubles, a homer, four runs scored and four RBI's in helping Mason go 4-1 last week. He has reached base in 19-consecutive games for the Patriots, and currently leads the conference in slugging percentage (.730) and home runs (9).

Senior third baseman Brig Tison leads the Mason offense in batting average (.391), on-base percentage (.452), runs scored (27) and hits (43), while senior outfielder Dan Schafferman has a team-high 24 RBI's.

The series will be the first CAA weekend away from home for Georgia State, who has faced Northeastern (W, 2-1) and James Madison (2-1) at the GSU Baseball Complex. The Panthers are 0-7 on the road this season.

Junior Drew Shields leads the GSU offense, hitting .343 with 34 hits and 21 runs scored. Senior Brandon Williams has a team-high 23 RBI's.
