Welcome to the first edition of On the Pitch, a weekly feature that allows fans to get acquainted
with one member of the women's soccer team. This edition features freshman Kelly Pizzingrilli, a midfielder from
Mechanicsburg, Pa. Pizzingrilli has started all but one match to begin the 2011
campaign and scored her first collegiate goal in the first contest of the
season against St. John's.
Q: How did you get
started playing soccer?
A: My parents had me try all sports starting at age five and
I loved soccer; it was awesome.
Q: What is your
favorite part of playing soccer?
A: My favorite part of playing soccer is meeting new people.
Q: Why did you choose
to play for George Mason?
A: I chose George Mason because I loved the campus, coaches
and team.
Q: What is your
favorite food?
A: My favorite food is sweet potatoes.
Q: What is your
favorite movie?
A: My favorite movie is Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa.
Q: What two words
would you use to describe yourself?
A: Bubbly and friendly.
Q: Would you rather
be a contestant on American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance or America's Got
Talent? And why?
A: I would be on So You Think You Can Dance because I love
dancing.
Q: If you were on
Survivor, what teammate would you want to be partnered with and why?
A: I would want to be partnered with Zania Barnum because I
feel like she knows everything!
Q: What is one thing
interesting about you that people may not know?
A: People probably don't know that when I sing, I sound like
Rihanna.
Q: What does it mean
to you to be a George Mason Patriot?
A: It means meeting new friends and being part of something
that you are proud of and want to represent.
