Mason vs. UNCW Game Notes

Mason opens its 26th season of Colonial Athletic Association play on Saturday evening when it hosts UNC Wilmington in a 7:30 p.m. game televised live on MASN ... The Patriots have been successful in their first Colonial Athletic Association games of the season, with a 14-11 record overall. Included in that is four straight victories, most recently a 57-52 win over UNCW nearly one year ago. Mason has won seven of its last eight CAA openers, with the lone loss coming at Old Dominion (54-53) in 2005. Under head coach Jim Larranaga, the Patriots are 10-3 in CAA openers ... Senior Cam Long has scored 993 points in his career, leaving him just seven short of becoming the 30th member of Mason's 1,000-Point Club.
