FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University Athletics has announced a series of staff promotions, recognizing outstanding leadership and continued excellence across key areas of the department.

In recognition of her outstanding leadership in securing critical funding to enhance student-athlete support and sports operations, upgrade facilities, and strengthen mental health and well-being initiatives,
Jenny Everett has been promoted to Deputy AD, Finance and Business Strategy / Chief Financial Officer. She will serve as the department's Chief Financial Officer providing strategic leadership over all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, performance analysis, and reporting. In her new role, she will not only provide executive oversight for ICA's business office, human resources, and procurement, but also lead an athletics business strategy and analysis program to develop integrated strategies across ticketing, fundraising, licensing, and external rentals.
A member of the George Mason Athletics staff since April 2020,
Jenny Medd has been promoted to Assistant Director of Business & Financial Services. Medd will have oversight on internal operations, including financial and business transactions, game contracts, team and individual travel processing, and financial policies and procedures. She also will continue to serve as the department's liaison for several campus partners, including the Foundation, Purchasing, and Fiscal Services.
Michael Ouellette has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director, Academic Services. Completing his 19th year with George Mason Athletics, Ouellette will continue to monitor student-athlete academic progress, track academic eligibility, and advise student-athletes on major and class selection. He will continue to serve as director of the department's tutorial program, while joining the leadership team in the Office of Academic Support. Ouellette also will work closely with incoming transfer student-athlete eligibility and strengthen partnerships with campus collaborators.
In her fourth year with the department,
Lily Plizga has been promoted to Associate Director of Fan Engagement & Brand Strategy. She will continue to develop and execute marketing, campus engagement, and promotional plans to enrich the fan experience for the campus and Northern Virginia communities. In her new role, she also will oversee digital branding and social content execution for the department, managing advertising and digital asset creation for George Mason's basketball programs.
