David Beck serves as the Lead Performance Analyst for George Mason University women’s volleyball for the 2026 season.

Beck brings 8 years of NCAA D1 coaching experience to the Patriots from both Power 4 and Mid-Major universities.

Beck’s most recent NCAA stop was with Towson University as the first assistant coach/recruiting coordinator for the 2022-2023 seasons. Beck helped the Tigers make program history through development of pin hitters and blockers.

In 2022, Beck’s blocking work helped the Tigers rank 5th in all D1 at 2.89 blocks per set highlighted by a 16-block performance in a four-set win over #7 Pittsburgh for the Tigers’ first-ever top 10 victory en route to a 29-2 record, win over a Big Ten opponent, CAA Regular Season Title, and CAA Tournament Title that culminated in the Tigers’ first-ever seed in the NCAA D1 Tournament.

Beck developed pins Barrett and Cajic who garnered All-CAA First Team honors, with Barrett named CAA Tournament MVP and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention. Cajic was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week twice and named to the CAA Volleyball All-Tournament Team. The Tigers finished first in conference hitting percentage and kills with Cajic leading the CAA with a .374 hitting percentage as well as earning the AVCA National Division I Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week Award.

In 2023, Beck’s efforts helped the Tiger’s get their first win over an SEC opponent in program history in a 12 block, 3 set sweep of South Carolina en route to a 24-6 season record and another CAA Regular Season Championship. Beck helped guide Cajic to the 2023 CAA Player of the Year Award.

From 2019-2021, Beck served as the first assistant coach/recruiting coordinator for the University at Buffalo. In his first year, Beck helped coach UB to its first MAC tournament match win since 2009. Beck also helped the Bulls to one of their best conference records at 8-8 since joining the MAC in 1998. Beck was responsible for bringing in several recruits from various national #1 team rankings.

Beck was the volunteer assistant coach at the University of Virginia for the 2018 season. Beck also served as the assistant director for Charlottesville Area Volleyball Club and Elite Team Floater Coach.

Beck was a graduate assistant coach at Georgia Southern University for the 2016-2017 seasons, helping guide Catherine Murray to the 1,000 kill mark.

Beck played at Grand Canyon University, where he was a two-time MIVA All-Academic for the Lopes. Beck was an outside hitter for a USA Team delegation at the FISU Pan-American University Games in Brazil after college.

Outside of the NCAA, Beck was the Head Coach at the Friends School of Baltimore in 2025. Beck helped Juliann Hernandez become the first All-Conference Selection for the program in years.

Beck founded and operated “Recruiting Class” from 2023–2025, successfully guiding athletes through the recruiting process and helping them earn commitments across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III.

Beck graduated from GCU magna cum laude in 2016 with his Bachelors in Sports Management. Beck earned his Masters of Public Administration in May 2018 from GSU. Beck is originally from Havre de Grace, Maryland.
