Owusu Sekyere returned to George Mason in March 2026 and brings more than a decade of coaching experience across the collegiate and professional levels. He previously served as an assistant coach for the Patriots during the 2023 season. He most recently was on the bench as an assistant coach at American University following a stint as head coach of the Richmond Ivy in the USL W League.
Owusu Sekyere has deep ties to the Atlantic 10, having been part of a VCU staff that captured the program's first-ever Atlantic 10 Conference regular season championship in 2021 while tying a school record with nine consecutive victories. He also helped guide the Rams to an Atlantic 10 Tournament appearance in 2022 and 2024.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Owusu Sekyere has held key developmental roles with Richmond-area youth programs, including serving as Director of Technical Development and Camps for the Richmond Kickers Youth. His background also includes a successful playing career, highlighted by his time at VCU and professionally with clubs such as the Charlotte Eagles and Richmond Kickers.
