As a Servant Leader in Higher Education for 35+ years, Dr. Mitchell A. Levy has successfully fostered holistic student development and community transformation. He was co-founder/supervisor of the Iona College P.A.S.S. (Promoting Academic Success of Student-Athletes) program, contributing to the 400+ D-1 student-athletes maintaining a 3.0+ cum. GPA for 16+ consecutive semesters, 40% earning Conference Honor Roll Standing and a number of teams earning NCAA recognition for top-5 & top-10 Academic Performance.
As a Psychologist & Professional Counselor, he has assisted diverse student populations in successfully addressing mental health, academic, career & transfer planning, athletic performance & team building, accessibility and substance abuse challenges. As a Full & Associate Professor, he has taught 95+ graduate courses in Mental Health & School Counseling and 40+ undergraduate Psychology courses. Dr. Levy was appointed to the Stockton University Holocaust Center Executive Board, N.J. AIDS Alliance Executive Board, N.Y.C. Higher Education Student Wellness & Anti-Bullying Task Force and the Cape May (N.J.) Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, Healthy Communities Coalition Steering & Veterans Services Committees. In addition, he has participated in community service including Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life and National-Make-A-Difference Day.Â
A native of New York City, Mitchell lives in Ashburn, Va. with his wife Marcy and two fur-babies, Jasmine and Hannah.
