Mark Bialkoski joined the George Mason men's basketball staff as director of operations in May 2023. He was promoted to assistant coach/director of operations in May 2025.
A dynamic recruiter with a keen talent to analyze the game, Bialkoski has served alongside Skinn during the program's best two-year stint in its Atlantic 10 history. In addition to operations duties, Bialkoski has helped manage opponent scouting and on-court player development for a program which has captured 47 victories over those first two seasons in Fairfax.
This past season in 2024-25, the Patriots earned a share of their first-ever A-10 regular season title, tallied the program's first NIT victory since 2004 and notched a school record-tying 27 overall victories. The Green & Gold set a new school record for Atlantic 10 league victories (15) and started league play 12-1 for the first time in the program's 59-year history. The Patriots locked up a double bye in the A-10 Tournament for the first time and reached a conference title game for the first time since 2009.
Bialkoski also proved instrumental in the development of forward Jalen Haynes, who garnered NABC All-District First Team accolades in 2024-25. He became just the second player in school history to be named to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team.
Bialkoski came to Fairfax in 2023 with more than 15 years of collegiate basketball coaching and administrative experience to Fairfax. In addition to his robust resume as a director of operations, Bialkoski most recently served as an assistant coach at East Tennessee State from 2021-23. While on the staff in Johnson City, Bialkoski worked closely with guard Jordan King, who went on to earn Atlantic 10 Player of the Year accolades at the University of Richmond.
Prior to his time at ETSU, Bialkoski spent six seasons at the University of Maryland, including the last three as the Terrapins' director of basketball operations. Prior to being elevated in 2018, Bialkoski was the team's video coordinator from 2015-18.

During his six-year tenure at Maryland, Bialkoski was a part of a Terrapins program which compiled an impressive 134-63 record (.680), while making four NCAA Tournament appearances. The Terps would've qualified for a fifth in 2020 after winning the Big Ten Championship and entering March ranked 12th in the final AP Top 25 Poll.
In Bialkoski's first season in College Park, Maryland reached the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2003 and finished No. 12 nationally after winning 27 games – the fourth-most in program history.
Prior to his run at Maryland, Bialkoski spent six seasons (2009-15) with the Charlotte men's basketball program. Bialkoski was the 49ers' director of basketball operations from 2012-15 after starting as a program assistant/graduate manager from 2009-12.
In his three seasons on the staff, the 49ers captured the Great Alaska Shootout and Puerto Rico Tip-Off titles and reached the Charleston Classic championship game. The 49ers defeated No. 10 Butler on the road as well in 2013. The 49ers won 52 games, including a 21-win season in 2013, marking the program's first 20-win season since 2007-08. Charlotte made its first postseason tournament appearance since 2008 with an NIT appearance in 2013.
Bialkoski received his degree in exercise science from Georgia Southern in 2008. During his time with the Eagles, Bialkoski was the head manager of the men's basketball program under head coach Jeff Price. The Eagles won the SoCon title during his tenure in 2006.
