Cade Cookson enters his second season as a men’s basketball graduate assistant in 2026-27
A three-year veteran of the George Mason program, Cookson served as head student manager from 2023-25, before assuming his GPA position this past season.
As head student manager during the program’s A-10 Championship season in 2024-25, Cookson oversaw the Patriot undergraduate manager staff while coordinating team travel operations. He also organized preparation for practice and managed staffing duties for home game days.
A native of the The Grand Canyon State, Cookson attended Arizona State University before completing his bachelor’s degree in sports management at George Mason. While in Arizona, he served in a number of coaching capacities, including as head basketball coach for Paseo Hills Middle School and assistant coach for Barry Goldwater High School.
While in Fairfax, Cookson also has worked as a video editor for Transfer Tapes, where he utilizes Synergy, Hudl Sports Code, Adobe Premiere and more to create highlight tapes for prospective student-athletes.
Cookson resides in Washington, D.C.
