Kyle Darmstead, a Bristow, Va. native, joins the George Mason baseball staff for his first year as the Director of Baseball Operations for the 2024 season.
Before joining the Patriots, Darmstead gained three seasons of collegiate coaching experience at Springfield College in Massachusetts and with the Sanford Mainers in Maine. He also coached local high school baseball at Brentsville District in Virginia.
While at Springfield College, Darmstead was the graduate assistant as he earned his master's degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology. In addition, he served as the pitching coach for the Santford Mariners in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). During this time with the Mariners, Darmstead gained experience with TrackMan, Rapsodo, Synergy Technology, collegiate player development, recruiting, and mental skills training.
Darmstead completed his undergraduate at Christopher Newport University in Virginia in 2020 where he was a pitcher for the Captains from 2016-2020. He helped the team reach a number one national ranking and Christopher Newport hosted an NCAA Regional in 2019.
