2013: Collected Third Team All-CAA honors at third base ... the lone Patriot to start all 53 games in the season ... finished the year hitting .330 with 69 hits, 18 doubles, 27 runs scored and 26 RBI's ... reached safely in the first 44 games of the season before having that streak snapped at William and Mary on April 27 ... also had 19 multiple-hit games ... led the team in hits (69) and doubles (18), stood second on the team in batting average (.330), slugging percentage (.464), on-base percentage (.399) and third in RBI's (26) ... his 18 doubles stood 21st on the Mason single-season leaderboard ... currently ranks among career leaders games played (157, 31st), games started (153, 28th), at-bats (612, 23rd), plate appearances (697, 25th), hits (179, 26th), doubles (49, 10th), triples (8, 7th), total bases (265, 34th) and walks (71, 29th) ... drove in a season-high four runs and finished 4-for-6 in the conference opener at Georgia State on March 8 ... scored a season-high three runs with a 3-for-5 showing at the plate in a loss to George Washington on April 2. 

2012: Started 54 games for Mason, playing in both the outfield and at third base ... finished the season batting .269 with 56 hits, 33 RBI's and 30 runs scored ... registered 14 doubles, three triples and two home runs ... hit and runs scored were career season highs ... drove in a season-high four RBI's with a 2-for-5 showing at the plate against Bryant on March 3 ... went 4-for-6 with three RBI's and three runs scored as Mason defeated Temple (3/7) ... owned a nine-game hitting streak that began on April 11 vs. Navy become coming to an end on April 24 at Georgetown ... during the streak he went 17-for-38 (.447) with 7 RBI's, nine runs scored and five doubles ... ended the season on a six-game hitting streak that began on May 6 against Delaware ... was 10-for-21 (.476) with five RBI's, seven runs scored, two doubles and one home run.

2011: Appeared in 50 games with 46 starts ... started 34 games at third base, six at second base and six at designated hitter ... hit .277 in 195 at-bats with 54 hits, 29 runs scored and 38 RBI ... had a team-high 17 doubles to go with three triples and three home runs ... hit .350 against left-handed pitching ... had 17 multi-hit games ... was third on the team in multi-RBI games with nine ... put together a 10-game hitting streak in March ... hit .301 in his first 45 games ... best stretch of the season came from April 13 through April 22 hitting .444 (16 for 36) with eight RBI's ... first career homer came on March 5 against Niagara and followed it with another homer on March 8 at Richmond ... also homered against Towson (April 29) ... had five three-hit games and tied a school record with seven at-bats against Coppin State (May 4) ... tied a school record on April 30 with three doubles against Towson, including a game-winning two-run double in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded to give the Patriots a 10-9 victory.

Prep: Finished high school career as Tulpehocken's all-time leader in career homers (21), hits (115), RBI (103) and runs scored (115) ... had a caerr batting average of .441 and a career on-base percentage of .549, both school records as well ... as a pitcher, compiled a 15-7 career record including a 9-1 mark as a junior to lead the Trojans to fourth-place in the Pennsylvania State Tournament ... racked up 190 career strikeouts and a 2.15 ERA, both school records ... First-Team All-State as a pitcher his junior year and followed that up as First-Team All-State as a shortstop his senior year ... three times named Baseball MVP and was the Tulpehocken High School Athlete of the Year as a senior ... was a two-year member of the Carpenter Cup team and was named Berks County Player of the Year as a senior ... played showcase baseball in 2008 and 2009 with the Mid-Atlantic Red Sox and in 2009, was selected to participate in the East Coast Pro Showcase in Lakeland, Fla. ... also was a three-year letter-winner in cross country and was named all-state twice.

Personal: Parents are Ken and Elaine Fernandez ... both parents were swimmers, Ken at Montclair St. University and Elaine at East Stroudsburg University ... also recruited by Navy, Radford, Mt. St. Mary's, Maryland, UMBC, UNC Charlotte, Richmond, Pitt, Towson, Sienna, and JMU ... major is communications.
