2017: Played in 12 sets and six matches as a sophomore, mainly at the libero position…contributed an assist against Charleston (W.V.) (March 25) and a total of nine digs (0.75 per set)…the team went 3-3 with Calaman on the court…season-high six digs at Saint Francis (Pa.) (April 14).
2016: Played in four sets…Had two assists against Coker (2/12)…Totaled 10 digs in three matches…Posted season-best six digs against Charleston (3/25).
Prep: Although playing on the varsity team for all four years, WIl Calaman's significance to the success of the Frank W. Cox High School volleyball team became especially clear in the libero's junior and senior seasons, following which he was named the Falcons' Defensive MVP. On the larger scale, in 2013 and 2014 Calaman featured on the First Team All-Coastal Conference, All-Tidewater First Team, and the Group 6A Boys All-State Volleyball Team. Calaman is a product of the Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club, for which he competed for five years.
Personal: Son to Jim and Terri Calaman and second oldest of four siblings. Calaman, who was a regular Honor Roll recipient throughout all four years of high school and recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction for his success on AP tests, is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar and long walks on the beach.
