FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason (3-1-1) remains undefeated at home following a scoreless draw against Loyola Maryland (0-1-3) on Sunday, Aug. 30, at George Mason Stadium. The Patriots maintain a 2-1-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Greyhounds.

The match began with George Mason and Loyola Maryland battling for possession, with neither side able to break through in the opening minutes. The Patriots began to find more of the ball as the half progressed, spending the majority of the final 20 minutes of the opening period in their attacking half. Mia Casciani, Molly Starner, and Carly Passaro each recorded a shot for the Patriots, but none found the target. Loyola Maryland's Betzael Contreras was denied by a crucial save from Libby Davy in the sixth minute, keeping the match scoreless.

George Mason continued to apply pressure after halftime, with Starner forcing a save from Loyola goalkeeper Hannah Goetzer in the 48th minute. The Patriots continued to create opportunities, with Kylie Beauregard attempting a shot in the 54th minute and Mia Arevalo-Delcid adding an attempt in the 67th minute. Despite the offensive pressure, neither side could find the breakthrough. Loyola's Contreras had a notable opportunity in the 81st minute, but her attempt sailed wide. Neither team could find the back of the net in the closing minutes, as the match ended in a scoreless draw after 90 minutes.

The Patriots held a narrow possession advantage throughout the match, controlling 55% of the ball compared to Loyola's 45%. George Mason outshot the Greyhounds 11-2, including a 6-1 edge in the first half and a 5-1 advantage after halftime. The Patriots earned two corner kicks in the first half, while Loyola recorded three corner kicks in the second half. Loyola's goalkeeper was forced into five saves, while Libby Davy made one stop for the Patriots.

The physical match featured 38 total fouls, with Loyola committing 21 and George Mason 17.

The Patriots and Davy recorded their second clean sheet of the season, with the Mason defense holding Loyola scoreless for the full 90 minutes.
