FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's basketball team will host American Athletic Conference power South Florida this season, beginning a home-and-home series in Fairfax.
The Patriots will battle the Bulls on Saturday, November 21 inside EagleBank Arena. George Mason will then head to Tampa for the return game during the 2027-28 season.
The Bulls are coming off a 2025-26 campaign in which the program won 25 games, went 15-3 in AAC and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. USF won the league regular season and tournament titles for the first time in program history and earned a No. 11 seed in the Big Dance. The Bulls narrowly lost to No. 6 Louisville, 83-79.
It marked the second time in three seasons USF won the AAC regular season title, 25+ games overall and 15+ league contests.
South Florida enters the 2026-27 season in the program's first season under former Louisville and Xavier head coach Chris Mack.
The USF home-and-home is the third series George Mason will take part in during the 2026-27 campaign. GMU will travel to High Point University to begin a two-year series on Dec. 2, as well as host Old Dominion as the second game in a three-year series with the Monarchs.
