CARY, N.C. – Rich Costanzo will represent George Mason University Athletics on a national stage this week as the George Mason men's soccer head coach joins Genefit FC as an assistant coach for The Soccer Tournament (TST) 2026 in Cary, N.C.

TST is a premier 7v7 soccer tournament that brings together professional players, former stars, celebrities and coaches from around the world to compete for a $1 million winner-take-all prize. The event will take place May 27 through June 1 at WakeMed Soccer Park, with Genefit FC competing in Group D.

Costanzo's return to TST highlights the growing visibility of the George Mason men's soccer program on the national stage. Last year, Costanzo competed in the tournament as a player for CONCAFA SC before returning this summer in a coaching role with Genefit FC.

"It's an awesome experience," Costanzo said. "A festival like this where players can get together and enjoy the game is something special."

The opportunity to return to TST for a second straight year was an easy decision for the Patriots head coach.

"It was a real enjoyment last season to share a special moment of playing competitively and having my family at the event," Costanzo said. "I am excited to be back with the team in a coaching role as we compete to win the $1 million prize."

Although his role has shifted from player to coach, Costanzo said the preparation and mentality remain unchanged heading into the tournament.

"I would say [the mentality] is the same as last season," Costanzo said. "It's a great event to enjoy, but we are focused on the prize and have put together a top team this season."

George Mason men's soccer alum Mike Foss '11 will also represent the Patriots at TST as a member of the Genefit FC roster.

When asked about the opportunity to represent George Mason men's soccer on a national stage, Costanzo stated, "We as a team hope to represent ourselves the right way and put Genefit FC on the map. I look forward to representing George Mason Men's Soccer in a great way while playing good football."
