FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) has announced that guard/forward Efeosa Oliogu-Elabor will join the Patriot roster, beginning in 2026-27.

The 6-foot-6 defensive stalwart hails from Markham, Ontario, and competed for Butler during his freshman campaign.

"Efeosa is dynamic student of the game who brings high major experience to our program," head coach Tony Skinn ('06) said. "He's a Swiss Army knife who's going to play with the ball in his hands. Defensively, he just fits George Mason Basketball. He's switchable, and when you look at his 6-6 frame and athleticism, it's clear he's going to elevate our defense."

Oliogu-Elabor suited up for 25 games this season for the Bulldogs and started the team's final 10 games in BIG EAST play. He averaged 5.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals/contest while shooting 41 percent from the floor. Over his 10 starts to close the season, he increased his scoring production to 6.9 points per contest.

Oliogu-Elabor scored 10+ points in five contests, including a season-best 15 points in a March 7 win over DePaul.

A decorated international player during his developmental career, Oliogu-Elabor led Team Canada to a fifth-place finish in the FIBA U19 Men's Basketball World Cup 2025 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He averaged 12.9 points per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field and 85 percent from the free throw line during the tournament. He finished second on the team in scoring, registering double-figure points in five games. That tremendous stretch was highlighted by a 21-point performance against Germany in pool play.

He also guided Team Canada to a bronze medal at the 2024 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup. He averaged 15.3 points per game during the event, including a team-high 23 points and seven assists in the bronze medal game win over the Dominican Republic.

A four-star recruit coming out of secondary school, Oliogu-Elabor averaged 22.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.5 steals per game during the 2024-25 season at William Academy. A four-time All-Canadian Team selection, he also competed for Overtime Elite in 2023-24.

On the AAU circuit, he led all scorers in the 2023 17U division of the Under Armour Association (UAA), averaging 20.8 points per game. He led Canada Elite to the 2023 17U UAA Finals.

Oliogu-Elabor joins a group of Patriot returners which includes 2025-26 Preseason All-A-10 First Team selection Brayden O'Connor, Emmanuel Kanga, Malik Presley and Ryan-Preston Mendy.
