FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason women's basketball head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis has announced the addition of Mary-Kate Tshibuabua (Rhode Island) to the Patriots' roster for the 2026-27 season.
A post player with a unique combination of size, skill, and toughness, Tshibuabua brings valuable frontcourt depth and versatility to the Green & Gold after two seasons with the Rams.

Tshibuabua saw action in six games during the 2025-26 season after returning from injury, highlighted by an 11-point, five-rebound performance in just 12 minutes in a win over Saint Louis. She also appeared in victories against VCU and George Mason, contributing on both ends of the floor while averaging 3.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
During the 2024-25 campaign, Tshibuabua made her Rhode Island debut in the season opener against Stonehill, tallying two points, four rebounds, and two steals. She later dished out four assists in a win at Le Moyne before a knee injury sidelined her for the remainder of the season. She appeared in three games, averaging 1.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest.
Prior to her time at Rhode Island, Tshibuabua developed her game at École Acadomia in France and trained at the prestigious Tony Parker Adéquat Academy, known for producing high-level international talent.
With her addition, the Patriots continue to build a roster defined by resilience, versatility, and a commitment to competing together at a high level.
