HISTORY vs. VCU
Tuesday's game marks the 73rd all-time meeting between old CAA and current A-10 foes George Mason and VCU. Mason is 13-16 at home, 9-24 on the road and 1-9 on neutral courts vs. the Rams (23-49 overall). GMU last won at the Siegel Center on Feb. 20, 2021 (79-76 OT).

Earlier this season on Jan. 10, the Patriots defeated the Rams in Fairfax for the first time since 2016 while notching an 86-80 victory. Despite shooting a 3-of-14 clip (.214) from 3pt range, the Patriots proved exceptionally efficient inside the arc while going 28-of-41 (.683). The team also made an important 21-of-24 (.875) attempts from the free throw line, including in clutch time and during some critical 1-and-1's midway through the second stanza.

Jahari Long recorded all 14 points in the second half and dished out five assists with just one turnover, and Masai Troutman rounded out the double figure scorers with 13 points (5-9 FG), four rebounds and two assists.

George Mason and VCU shared the A-10 regular season title in 2024-25 and Tuesday's contest is a rematch of the 2025 A-10 Championship game at Capital One Arena. The Rams won that one, 68-63. With the Patriots down three (66-63) with under 10 seconds to go, a 3-point attempt from Zach Anderson went in and out, allowing the Rams to hold on for the victory and capture the championship title.
