WASHINGTON, D.C. — George Mason (6-4-3, 2-2-1) lost to George Washington (4-5-4, 1-2-2) 2-0 on Thursday at GW Soccer Field. The Patriots recorded 13 shots, including seven in the second half, but were held scoreless as George Washington made four saves. The teams were scoreless at halftime before George Washington scored twice in the second half.
The Patriots kept the Revolutionaries scoreless through a first half in which the home side generated several early looks, including two corners and three shots by 13:19. The Green & Gold answered with six shots before halftime, including
Gianna Chrapek's 16:49 attempt that Jasmine Black saved in the bottom center.
Libby Davy also saved a George Washington shot at 23:43, and the half ended 0-0.
George Mason created chances in the second half but could not answer two Sophia Michel goals for George Washington, the first at 56:40 for a 1-0 score and the second at 79:02 for 2-0. Earlier, the Green & Gold opened the half with shots by

Kailey Hill, with Jasmine Black saving the latter two.
Abigail Merchant struck the left woodwork at 62:23, and
Mia Casciani put a shot on frame in the 82nd minute before the Patriots fell 2-0.
Chrapek led the Patriots with two shots on goal and shared the team lead with three total shots.
Kylie Beauregard also finished with three shots. Davy played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded two saves.
