FAIRFAX, Va. — George Mason women's soccer freshman Kylie Beauregard was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week while senior Carly Passaro earned Atlantic 10 Defender of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday.

Beauregard, a forward from Mechanicsville, Md. , scored the game-winning goal in the Patriots' 1-0 victory over Richmond on Saturday night. The freshman found the back of the net in the 62nd minute to break the scoreless tie to help George Mason secure the conference win. Beauregard played 67 minutes and recorded four shots, including three on goal.

Passaro, a Farmington, Conn. native, anchored the Patriots' backline in the shutout victory over the Spiders. The senior defender played the full 90 minutes and helped stunt Richmond's attack as George Mason recorded its fourth shutout of the season.

The weekly honors come after the Patriots handed Richmond its first loss of the season and picked up a crucial Atlantic 10 victory.

Beauregard and Passaro are the second and third Patriots to receive Atlantic 10 weekly honors this season.
