RICHMOND, Va. — George Mason (8-6, 3-0 Atlantic 10) defeated VCU (4-11, 0-3 Atlantic 10), 68-58, at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. This victory marked a significant milestone as it was head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis' 400th career win. The Patriots held a 39-29 rebounding advantage and scored 16 points off turnovers.

George Mason opened the game by establishing an early rhythm, quickly overcoming an initial three-point deficit with a jumper from Mary Amoateng at 8:28. The team maintained momentum with a 10-0 run, highlighted by Jada Brown's efficient shooting and a layup from Hawa Komara at 5:34. Brown's performance was particularly noteworthy as she achieved a career-high 17 points during the game. Despite the Rams' efforts to close the gap, the Patriots held a solid lead. The quarter concluded with George Mason leading 15-8.

Amoateng opened the second quarter with a layup, setting the tone for the Green & Gold's strong performance. Kennedy Harris then extended the lead with a 3-pointer at 7:54, assisted by Brown, and later added another three at 3:51. The Patriots capitalized on defensive stops and converted turnovers into points, with Volker contributing with key steals.

The Rams managed to close the gap slightly with scores in the paint, but George Mason maintained control. MJ Johnson secured the final points of the quarter with two free throws at 0:07, ensuring an 18-point quarter for the Patriots. The quarter concluded with George Mason leading 33–21.

George Mason dominated the third quarter, propelled by a strong offensive and defensive effort. Johnson led the charge, scoring consistently with a jumper and two layups, helping to extend their lead. Brown contributed significantly with back-to-back 3-pointers, one of which was assisted by Amoateng, widening the margin further. The Patriots' defense was effective, forcing multiple turnovers and allowing only two field goals from the Rams in the quarter. The quarter concluded with George Mason leading 52–28.

In the fourth quarter, the Patriots made a significant push with a series of three-pointers, including a key shot by Brown assisted by Johnson at 7:58, followed by another from Amoateng at 7:26. Despite turnovers, they maintained momentum with efficient shooting. The Rams responded with fast breaks and points in the paint but could not close the gap. The game ended with a final score of George Mason 68, VCU 58.
