FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up the regular season against Georgetown on Saturday at the Aquatic and Fitness Center.
The Patriots' men's team defeated the Hoyas, 169.50-127-50, while the women's team dropped its dual, 206.50-93.50.
On the men's side, senior
Aoun Al-Hiari and
Tate Anderson, and juniors
Ian Rodgers and
Ryan Serbia each won two events.
Al-Hiari touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (48.75) and 200-yard butterfly (1:53.92). In the 200-yard butterfly, freshman
Brendan Lao was third (1:57.17).
Anderson took the top spot in both the 100-yard freestyle (44.48) and 200-yard freestyle (1:37.62). In the 100-yard freestyle, sophomore
Gabriel Miller placed third (46.81) and in the 200-yard freestyle freshman
Robert Dykman finished fourth (1:42.64). Miller was second in the 50-yard freestyle (21.06).
In the 100-yard backstroke, Rodgers was first (49.49) and senior
Jett Lee was third (51.49). Rodgers also won the 200-yard backstroke (1:49.95), with Lee fourth in the event (1:53.75).
The Patriots went one-two in the 1650-yard freestyle, with junior
Alex Crown first (15:45.39) and freshman
Erik Oman second (16:11.96). Serbia won the 200-yard IM (1:52.77) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:03.32). He placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.75).
Junior
Caden Guy took the top spot in the three-meter diving event (305.70), with classmate
Christian Anderson second (304.58). Anderson also placed second in the one-meter (305.55).
The team of Rodgers, Serbia, Al-Hiari and Anderson won the 400-yard medley relay (3:17.01) and the combination of graduate student
Agustin Rasche, Rodgers, Miller and Anderson took first in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:22.44).
On the women's side, senior
Peyton Brehmer won the 50-yard freestyle (23.64), with junior
Hannah Magdeburg fourth (24.48).
The Patriots took three of the top four spots in the 100-yard breaststroke, with senior
Ainsley Toews second (1:05.98), senior
Angelina Zeidan third (1:07.60) and freshman
Landry Liston fourth (1:07.64).
In the 100-yard freestyle, Brehmer placed second (52.29) and Magdeburg third (53.20). Freshman
Sidney Kaufman touched the wall second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.97).
The Patriots went two-three in the 100-yard butterfly, with Zeidan second (58.71) and freshman
Madeline Majewski third (59.92).
In the 200-yard breaststroke, junior
Kristen Ivey placed second (2:24.60) and senior
Ainsley Toews finished third (2:25.22). Freshman
Alexis Brazier took third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:13.89).
The team Kaufman, Toews, Brehmer and Zeidan placed second in the 400-yard medley relay (3:52.98).
The Atlantic 10 Championships will be held Feb. 18-21 at the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex in Hampton, Va.
