The Patriots' aggressive start and dominance on the boards, securing 19 offensive rebounds, set the tone for the game. This win continues George Mason's best start in Atlantic 10 play, boasting a 5-0 record for the first time in history.
George Mason came out strong, establishing control with a 10-2 run, highlighted by
Hawa Komara's fast-break layup at the 5:00 mark. The Green & Gold's defense was airtight, holding the Revolutionaries to just two baskets in the opening quarter.
Kennedy Harris contributed crucial points, including a three-point play at 2:34, leading to a 16-6 advantage by the end of the first quarter.
The Patriots continued to build their lead in the second quarter with a pivotal 3-pointer by
Zahirah Walton at 1:17, pushing the score to 28–19. Walton's fast-break layup, assisted by
