Fairfax, Va. -- The George Mason Patriots (0-4-1, 0-0) are set to return home this Sunday, September 7 to take on Elon University (4-0-1, 0-0). The match will be held at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Virginia, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. This match comes after a two-game away stretch that saw Mason face off against Villanova and the University of Pennsylvania. The Green and Gold are anticipating securing their first win of the season in front of their home crowd.
GMU goalkeeper
Libby Davy is coming back to George Mason Stadium after setting two new single-season highs in saves; she stopped seven shots at Villanova and another eleven versus UPenn. Davy, along with Mason's defense, will need to be on point again this Sunday against Elon's offense.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
Elon has got off to a hot start this season, winning four of the five matches they've played, while tying just one. They're boosted on the pitch by Isa Murdock and Grace Gelhaus, both of whom have scored two goals and recorded six and five points, respectively. Elon's supporting cast is just as effective, with six different players scoring a goal on the season. On the defensive end, their back line has allowed just 21 shots this season, with goal-minder Katie Bisgrove stopping 19 of them. Bisgrove has a save percentage of 0.950, which equates to 0.20 goals allowed per game. She has conceded one goal thus far.
HISTORY AGAINST ELON
The Patriots and the Phoenix hold and even 1-1 record between the two programs. The last match was played on August 15, 2024, in which George Mason fell short 1-0 to Elon. The Green and Gold are looking to improve their record against the Phoenix tomorrow.

PATRIOTS SCHEDULE
The George Mason University women's soccer team's 2025 schedule features a competitive slate of matchups highlighted by regional rivalries, Atlantic 10 battles, and a strong mix of home and away contests. The Patriots will play 18 regular season matches, including 10 at home at George Mason Stadium.
George Mason began the campaign with a 1-1 draw on the road at William & Mary on Thursday, August 14.
The Patriots wrapped up August with a four-game stretch that included home matches against Delaware and James Madison, followed by road games at Villanova and UPenn.
The Green & Gold will then round out non-conference play with a trip to Loyola Maryland (Sept. 11) and a home game vs. American (Sept. 14).
A-10 play ramps up shortly after with a matchup at home against George Washington on Saturday, September 20, before hitting the road for contests at Richmond (Sept. 25) and La Salle (Sept. 28).
October brings the heart of conference play, starting with a home clash against St. Bonaventure on Thursday, October 2. After a visit to Duquesne on October 5, the Patriots will then host VCU on October 11.
The Green & Gold will close out the regular season with four more A-10 matchups, hosting Davidson (Oct. 16), traveling to Fordham (Oct.19) and Dayton (Oct. 23), and finishing at home against Saint Joseph's on Sunday, October 26.
