PITTSBURGH – George Mason University men's basketball senior guard
Brayden O'Connor has been named to the Preseason All-Atlantic 10 First Team, announced at the league's annual basketball media day on Tuesday in Pittsburgh.
O'Connor joins Josh Oduro (2022-23) and Otis Livingston II (2018-19) as the only Preseason All-A-10 First Team picks in program history.
The Ottawa, Ontario, product is joined on the First Team by Javon Bennett (Dayton), Rafael Castro (GW), Miles Rubin (Loyola Chicago), Deuce Jones II (Saint Joseph's) and Robbie Avila (Saint Louis).
O'Connor started all 36 games for George Mason at point guard last season and ranked second on the Patriots at 28.1 minutes/game while leading the team in assists/contest (3.0). He also was third in scoring (9.1 ppg) on a squad that tied the school record with 27 victories and earned a share of the A-10 regular season title for the first time in program history.
An efficient scorer in addition to his distribution prowess, O'Connor shot 37.6 percent from 3pt range, 44.8 percent overall and 80.4 percent from the line in 2024-25.
He paced the Patriots in assists in a team-high 15 games and the team was 14-2 when he notched at least four assists in a game. He scored 10+ points on 16 occasions.
A proven winner over his three seasons of college basketball, O'Connor's teams at George Mason (2024-25) and UMass Lowell (2022-24) are a combined 75-27 (37-12 in league play).

Tony Skinn ('06), was picked sixth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll, as voted upon by the league's coaches and media members. It matches the program's preseason prognostication (sixth) at the league's 2024-25 media day.
George Mason opens the regular season on November 3 with a 7 p.m. home contest against Wofford.
