Philadelphia, Pa. -- The George Mason Patriots (3-5-2, 2-0-0) are set to take on the La Salle University Explorers (4-4-1, 1-1-0) tomorrow, September 28 at 1 p.m. The match will be played at McCarthy Stadium in Philadelphia. The Green and Gold are seeking to extend their winning streak and remain undefeated in Atlantic 10 play.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
Senior forward Justyce Hollenbach leads the Explorers with five points, recording two goals and one assist thus far this year. Hollenbach has shot the ball 20 times this season and 10 of those attempts were on goal. The Patriots need to limit Hollenbach's chances in order to keep the Explorers off the scoreboard.
However, nine different players have netted goals for La Salle – showing their ability to share the ball and capitalize on the best scoring opportunities from multiple offensive options across the roster. Mason must cut off passing lanes and stay compact defensively to deny the Explorers the space that fuels their balanced offensive attack.
La Salle has relied exclusively on senior goalkeeper Mackenna Yaracs, who has started all nine games between the posts. She has recorded 29 saves this season while posting a 1.22 goals-against average
HISTORY AGAINST LA SALLE
The Explorers hold a 6-3-3 all-time record against the Patriots. Last season's back-and-forth battle between the two teams ended in a stalemate, 2–2. George Mason is looking for its first win against La Salle since a 1–0 road victory in 2018.
