FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's basketball program will host its third annual Mason Mile and Open Practice on Saturday, October 4 at EagleBank Arena.
The Mason Mile is free and open to all George Mason students and members of the DMV community. Participants can jog or walk a mile to support the cause of their choosing.
Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m. at the EagleBank Arena South Entrance. Free parking is available in Lot A.
The Mason Mile begins at 10 a.m. and will feature a scenic route around the George Mason University Campus. Men's basketball student-athletes will be positioned throughout the route with water, snacks and raffle tickets to greet participants on their journey.
At the Mason Mile's conclusion, participants can enjoy a DJ, food trucks, snacks and be entered to win one of a number of prizes. The prizes will include electronics, team-issued gear and more.
Following the Mile's conclusion, fans can enter EagleBank Arena at the South Entrance to watch the team's open practice, beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. Following the Green & Gold scrimmage, the program's student-athletes will sign autographs for all interested attendees.

Tony Skinn ('06) created the Mason Mile in 2023 as a way to unite the campus and greater DMV community around the start of college basketball season. What began as a student event on the George Mason Stadium track has grown to a community-wide event that features the Fairfax campus and gives fans of all ages a chance to exercise and support a number of community and national causes with the team.
