Fairfax, Va. -- The Patriots fell short in their home opener by a score of 2-0. The Blue Hens struck first, with a goal in the 19th minute by Lilli Lubic, her first of the season from 15 yards out. The assist came from Maggie Groh, who continues to fill the stat sheet this season. The Patriots kept up the pressure for the rest of the half, limiting Delaware to one goal in 45 minutes of play.
