FAIRFAX, Va. — George Mason women's basketball head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis has announced the addition of Lauren Stack as a graduate assistant for the 2025–26 season.

A native of St. Charles, Illinois, Stack brings a wealth of playing experience, leadership, and academic excellence to the Green & Gold. She joins the Patriots after a decorated five-year playing career at American University, where she was a three-year team captain, helped lead the Eagles to a 2022 Patriot League Championship, and was named the team's Most Valuable Player for the 2022–23 season.

"We're incredibly excited to welcome Lauren Stack to our program," said Blair-Lewis. "As a graduate student and former women's basketball standout, she exemplifies the core values we hold dear—hard work, dedication, passion, and an unwavering drive to succeed. She brings the same intensity and commitment off the court as she did on it, and what stands out even more is her eagerness to learn and grow. We're confident she'll make an immediate impact, and we look forward to supporting her continued development both professionally and personally."

Stack graduated from American in 2023 with a B.A. in journalism and a minor in chemistry. She is now pursuing her Master's in Sports Management at George Mason.

"I am ecstatic to be joining George Mason's staff as their graduate assistant," said Stack. "I believe in this program and I look forward to helping further the winning culture, as well as supporting the players, coaches, and other staff in any way I can."

Off the court, Stack was equally impressive in the classroom. She was a Dean's List honoree from 2019–2024, earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition in both 2023 and 2024, and was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team in 2024.

Coming from a basketball family, Stack's passion for the game runs deep—her parents and all three younger siblings, Erin, Katrina, and Colin, have played or are currently playing at the collegiate level.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, writing, and working out. A fan of the Las Vegas Aces and Washington Mystics, Stack also shares her home with her four-year-old cat, Aspen.
