FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) has announced that former Ball State standout Jermahri Hill will join the Patriot roster, beginning in 2025-26.

An All-MAC Honorable Mention selection, the 6-foot-5-inch guard led the Cardinals in scoring and assists/game during his junior campaign.

"Jermahri is extremely athletic and his ability to get downhill is elite," head coach Tony Skinn ('06) said. "He possesses an 'it' factor. As we watched film, he really stood out. But more importantly, when we called coaches around the MAC, they had a lot of respect for him. That means a lot when it comes from opposing staffs. He's dynamic and a guy that gives us flexibility to not only throw the ball inside but also being able to iso. He's also a former football player, so his physicality and his intensity has translated into what's made him successful. That just fits what we like to do as a program."

Hill ranked eighth in the MAC with 15.8 points/game and dished out 3.2 assists/contest. His 32:24 minutes/game also ranked 10th in the league and tops on the Cardinals. He upped his totals to 15.9 points/game and 3.8 assists/game in MAC play.

Hill started 30 of 31 games for Ball State and notched 10+ points in 27 contests. The Dec. 2 MAC Player of the Week, Hill posted at least 20 points in seven contests, including a 26-point performance against league champion Akron in February.

The Bessemer, Ala., product played his first two collegiate seasons at South Plains Junior College. As a sophomore, he started in a team-high 33 out of 35 games while averaging 14.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. During that season, he led the Texans to a 32-3 record, including 15-2 in league play, while advancing to the Elite Eight of the NJCAA Division I Tournament.

In his debut campaign, Hill averaged 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 25.1 minutes per game while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from 3-point range. He led the Wildcats to an 18-8 record and 9-5 mark in conference play.

Hill attended Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Ga., and played his AAU ball for Team Huncho. He 247 Composite rated him as a 3-star shooting guard, including rankings as the No. 39 shooting guard and No. 15 Georgia prospect for the 2022 class.
