FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) has announced that guard/forward Malik Presley will join the Patriot roster, beginning with the 2025-26 season.

A product of San Marcos, Texas, Presley suited up for the University of Texas in 2024-25 after playing his freshman season at Vanderbilt.

"We've had success recruiting Power 5 transfers into our program and Malik fits that mold for us," Skinn said. "He's competed at the highest level, and when given the opportunity, he's proven he can be an impact player. He's long, he's versatile and he's a jack of all trades. His length reminds me of Woody Newton and what he was able to do for us defensively during his career. With three years of eligibility, the sky's the limit for the impact Malik can have for us at George Mason."

Presley redshirted for the Longhorns as a sophomore on a squad that reached the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

At Vanderbilt in 2023-24, Presley saw action in 26 games and made five starts as a freshman. In 11.9 minutes per game, the 6-foot-6 inch guard/forward averaged 2.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists per contest. He shot 42.9 percent from the floor and registered a season-best 11 points against Auburn.

Presley competed for San Marcos High School prior to his collegiate career, where he earned Class 6A All-State and District 27-6A Most Valuable Player accolades as a senior. He averaged 20.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals during his senior year while leading his team to a 38-4 record and the District 27-6A and Area Championship. For his efforts, he was a finalist for SBLive's Texas Boys Basketball Class 6A Player of the Year.
