FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) announced Tuesday that former Presbyterian guard Kory Mincy will join the Patriot roster, beginning in 2025-26.

The 2025 All-Big South Honorable Mention pick put together an outstanding sophomore campaign with the Blue Hose while ranking second on the team in scoring (15.0 ppg) and third in the Big South in assists/contest (4.4 apg).

"Kory's natural playmaking is what separates him," Skinn said. "He's dynamic in the ball screen and when he gets it going, he can make so many things happen. As a point guard, he can really help our program with how he takes care of the ball, his ability to make plays for himself and his teammates, and his nastiness defensively with how he gets after it."

Mincy dished out an impressive 144 assists over 33 starts for Presbyterian and ranked fifth in the Big South in assist/turnover ratio (1.92). He also led the team and ranked fifth in the league in steals/game (1.55) and shot 37.1 percent (63-170) from 3pt range.

The East Point, Ga., native notched 10+ points in 28 of 33 games and reached the 20-point plateau in seven contests. He shined on the brightest stages throughout the season, including tremendous performances vs. NC State (28 pts, 4-6 3pt, 4 ast), South Carolina (27 pts, 4 ast) and league champion High Point (24 pts, 5-10 3pt).

The Nov. 12 Big South Player of the Week led Presbyterian to the Blue Hose best ever Big South Tournament seed and a berth in the CBI.

As a freshman in 2023-24, Mincy made the Big South All-Rookie team, was a four-time Big South Freshman of the Week honoree and started 11 games. He averaged 6.0 points and shot 36.8 percent from 3pt range.

Mincy attended Tri-Cities High School where he was named the 2023 Region 5 Player of the Year after averaging 19.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.9 steals per game as a senior. A two-time First Team All-Region standout, Mincy scored over 1,700 points in his high school career and led the Bulldogs to the 5A State Championship as a junior. He was named Most Outstanding Player of the Championship game after scoring 19 points in the victory.
