FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team is officially heading to the NCAA Tournament! The Patriots gathered with fans on Sunday evening for a Selection Sunday watch party, where they learned their postseason fate: a first-round matchup against Florida State on Saturday, March 22, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
George Mason (27-5) earned an automatic bid after winning the Atlantic 10 Conference last week, securing their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. The Patriots will enter the tournament as a No. 11 seed, taking on the No. 6 seed Florida State Seminoles (23-8) at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on the campus of LSU.
